Last night, Carson refused to eat his dinner unless he was wearing his reading crown (the crown we made at story time at the library)....

Bear World
22 April 2012
What a cute little bear |
Yesterday we went to Bear World for their opening weekend. It was the first time that Carson and I have gone. Carson had a really good time while we were there! We went with Carly, Will, Ashley, Shaun, Kenzlee, Brock, and Joslyn.
This is how Carson would measure up to a Grizzly Bear |
Petting the goat |
Holding hands with Kenzlee and chasing the ducks! He grabbed "Tinzlee's" hand the second she got there and started pulling her along. It's cute how much he loves his cousins! |
Petting the pig |
Feeding the deer |
He would only give the deer one piece of food at a time and would say, "Yumm...... more." |

While we were there they had an Easter egg hunt because the bears were still sleeping during Easter. Carson did a good job finding eggs. He is an expert now! He got lots of candy, free fudge, a free bouncy ball, a soda, a scoop of ice cream, and a pressed penny.
Finding Easter eggs with Daddy |
We decided that we wanted to feed the adult bears by taking the tour truck through the park. It was really fun because the bears would come right up to the side of the truck and some of them would sit up or wave for treats. Carson was pretty much done, but he would still point and say "Bear" or "Anibal" when he saw deer or elk.

It was a really fun day and it felt like Summer!! We aren't used to it being this warm in April so none of us thought to put on sunblock. The boys got nice tans while all of us white girls got burned. Unfortunately, Carson got my skin so he got a little pink. Next time we will remember to put on the sunblock!
Zoo visit and bloody nose
21 April 2012
Yesterday was a nice day so we met some friends at the Zoo! It was our first Zoo visit of the season, and Carson was a lot more interested this year then he was last year.
One of Carson's favorite things to do it make animal sounds, especially the noises the monkey makes. He had fun playing with this little monkey and making the sounds with it!
Playing with the monkey through the glass |
So excited to pet the goats! |

With Noah on the Tiger! He didn't want to look at the camera. :) |
He had a lot of fun at the zoo and then we came home and had a BBQ with some family. Carson was playing downstairs when I heard a loud noise and Carson started crying. I ran down the stairs to find him face down at the bottom of the stairs. I don't know if he fell down the stairs, or fell and hit his face on the bottom step, but either way he hit his nose and there was blood everywhere. Poor baby! Once we got him (and Mommy) all cleaned up we determined that his nose probably wasn't broken, but the poor baby sure did hit it hard! I have to give a shout out to PreSpot for getting all of the blood out of my favorite hoodie! Not a drop left and it was pretty much soaked!
"If You Give a Mouse a Cookie"
19 April 2012
Today, Carson and I spent the morning grocery shopping and running errands followed by a long nap for the little guy. When he woke up it was really windy outside so we couldn't really go out there to play. Instead, I decided to pull out one of my favorite kids books and one that we happened to get at the Shelley Library this week:
I love this book!! I used to read it when I was little and I thought it would be fun to have a themed afternoon! First, Carson and I made chocolate chip cookies. He likes to help me pour the ingredients in and stir the flour. He also really likes watching the KitchenAid mix everything.
I couldn't get him to smile! He was too busy mixing ingredients. |
Yes, I let him try the batter. No, I did not reuse that spatula. |
While our cookies were baking he even helped me wash dishes! Well, not really, but he played in the water. |
Once the dishes were washed and our cookies were baking, we made paper chocolate chip cookies. I cut up little black paper pieces that he glued to his cookie. I can't get over how good he is with gluing! He knows exactly what to do and is really good at it!
We finished by eating our cookies, drinking milk, and reading the book together. What a fun afternoon! Love you buddy!
Sunday Ride
16 April 2012
Sunday was a nice day so while Jason studied Carson and I took a walk around the neighborhood in the wagon. Once we got back he decided he wanted to try out all of the riding toys and we ended up staying outside most of the evening. He still can't reach the peddles in most of them, so mommy had to help push. He was really excited about them though! Super cute!
Buzz Lightyear's Crash Landing

Jason and I had a rough time putting Carson to bed the other night. After being sick all week he wanted us to rock him or sleep with us. So, after many times of having him come out of his room and us put him back, he finally fell asleep. A little while later Jason went to check on him, but couldn't open the door. This is what we found.....
He must have known that if he came out of his room we would put him back in bed, so he fell asleep right behind the door. It took a lot of maneuvering and trying not to laugh before we were able to get him back in his bed safely. :)
What do you do when you are sick?
14 April 2012
Last week, both of my boys were sick. They had strep throat really bad. So bad, in fact, that Jason's doctor told him he wasn't allowed to go back to work for 3 days, and we were placed under quarantine. With a toddler, that can be difficult. Here are some of the things we did during the week....
Skype with Nana and Papa |
Made Rice Krispy treats |
Ate lots of snacks |
Did mess-free finger painting |
Concentrating really hard |
Easter 2012
09 April 2012
Saturday evening we watched Kenzlee, Brock, and Joslyn so Ashley and Shaun could go to a movie. While they were here we decided to color eggs! The kids were so excited they could hardly stand it! The eggs turned out pretty cute, too!
Ready to get started! |
