Brooklyn had her 2 month checkup today and she did great! I think watching your baby get shots is harder on the parents then it is on the kids. She only cried for a second and then she was fine! Here are her stats:
Weight: 10lbs, 9oz - 18%
Height: 21 1/2 inches - 4%
Head: 15 1/2 inches - 71%
Our little girl is growing up. I've really noticed that she is losing that newborn look the past 2 weeks. She started cooing and talking to us a lot more and it is really cute. Carson is used to her now and loves being a big brother. He likes to talk to her and kiss her and he always wants to hold her. Today he tried to give her some of his applesauce when she started crying. He doesn't understand why she doesn't play with his cars and his trains when he gives them to her to play with. I can't wait for them to be able to play together soon!
Brooklyn had a rough start in this life. She was tongue-tied which caused problems with her eating. Once we had that fixed and taken care of she started eating better and growing, but then she was ALWAYS fussy. It was more than just a colicky baby, she was really fussy. I couldn't ever put her down, she didn't want to sleep, she hated her swing, didn't like the wrap, constantly wanted to nurse..... After talking with my friend April, she told me to take her in to see if it was acid reflux. I hadn't thought of that because she didn't really spit up much, but I took her in. Sure enough, she had acid reflux. They put her on medication that she takes twice a day and I noticed a big difference. She was still a little colicky, but nothing like she was before. When I took her home to New Mexico, my aunt Danene zoned her feet and it was like I had a whole new baby! She didn't cry in her car seat anymore, she took naps, and I could actually put her down in her seat and she wouldn't cry! We are continuing to zone her feet and I have noticed a big change in her. I can tell she isn't hurting as much, which makes me happy!
We sure do love our sweet little girl. I love cuddling with her and listening to her talk. She has the cutest smile and the prettiest eyes. And who can forget her hair!!
Love you, Brooklyn Kate!
