The Saturday after the 4th of July, Jason and I headed to Rexburg to run in the Color in Motion 5K. We had our crazy socks, our awesome sweatbands, and some rockin' sunglasses. We got there early enough to walk around the BYU-Idaho campus before the race. We hardly even recognized it! It looks amazing and everything is remodeled and new. We both thought it was totally unfair that we went to school there during the construction phase. Oh well!
The race started at 10am and we took a few before pictures when we were nice and clean. We ran the race with Ashley and Shaun which was so much fun! My good friend, Anne, also ran in the race. I told Jason not to try and wait for me and he didn't! He did an awesome job. He finished the 5K in just under 19 minutes. I'm not going to tell you my time - lets just say I did it for fun.
While we were waiting for the race to start people started throwing color packets everywhere. It was so much fun. Jason's hair looked pretty awesome!
Once everyone finished the race we all got in a huge group and threw our color packets up in the air at the same time. It was AWESOME!!! We were covered in color (more than we were from the race) and the air was so full of color it was hard to breathe.
We were VERY colorful by the time we were done. We stopped at Subway on our way back to Idaho Falls to get a sandwich and you should have seen the looks we got. When we saw Carson he didn't know what to think! It was pretty funny. He hugged me and got some color on him and he HATED it! He demanded to take a bath right that instant. Silly kid.
This is something we decided we want to do every year. There were lots of people there that pushed strollers through the race and I think we might try that next year. I think Brooklyn would love it - Carson might not be so sure about it.
